About Washington State Auto Dealers Association

WSADA is celebrating 88 years of service to Washington's franchised new car and truck dealers and businesses who support dealership operations through various industry-related services.

The distribution and sale of new vehicles vitally affects the general economy of the state. WSADA's 341 dealer members serve 85 cities and communities in Washington and are responsible for an annual sales volume in excess of $13 billion. Dealers collect over 15% of the sales tax revenues for the state and employ over 22,000 people.

Through a wide variety of civic and charitable causes, franchised dealers generously contribute millions of dollars each year to the communities in which they do business, as well as countless hours of their personal time. For all WSADA dealers it's about more than selling cars, it's also about giving back.

As the auto retail industry has evolved over the years, so has the complexity of day-to-day operations, the regulatory environment and the public image of auto dealers. WSADA is proud to serve as "one strong voice" in support of new car and truck dealers in state and federal legislative and regulatory arenas and in the community at large.
The Association's main objectives in serving franchised dealers are to:
  • Develop and promote constructive and progressive legislation that supports the continuation of a healthy and viable franchise system.
  • Foster and promote legislation that eliminates regulation that increases the cost of doing business in Washington and increases costs to the consumer.
  • Support dealers in their ongoing commitment to operate their dealerships in a fair, open and honest manner, in accord with the highest standards of ethical conduct.
  • Promote and encourage sound business policies and practices that conform to state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
  • Highlight the numerous positive economic, civic and charitable contributions franchised auto dealers make to the state and their local communities.
  • Encourage the sponsorship of programs related to highway safety.
  • Represent franchised new car and truck dealers in all matters of general interest.
