The list detailing Jack Carroll’s many years of service to others is extensive, running the gamut from charitable and educational organizations, to the auto industry, and he has humbly yet deservingly received significant recognition for his contributions. Much of his service has been supporting youth in the community and industry. A longtime advocate for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization, Jack served on the Snohomish County chapter’s Board of Directors, and not only co-chaired its annual auction, but was its top fundraiser that year, helping the charity more than triple the previous event’s donations. Jack also played an influential and sizeable role in establishing the Professional Automotive Training Center at Shoreline Community College, an award-winning educational facility that was established without any state funding and opened to nationwide recognition. “I believe every young person has the potential to shape the future of our global community,” Jack said. If I can help them along, I want to try.” For all this and much more, Jack Carroll, Lynnwood Dodge and Jack Carroll’s Lincoln-Mercury, has been selected Washington State’s 2008 TIME Magazine’s Dealer of the Year. Asked what has been the most rewarding aspect of his career he said, “it’s the people I have come in contact with. . . my employees, customers, and fellow dealers. We have all worked together to make the automotive industry one we can be proud of . . . My fellow dealers are as passionate about what they do as I am. We are friends. We share ideas. We are innovative, we work hard and we are proud of what we do.” Congratulations to Jack, his wife, Barbara, sons Steve and Mike, and his many dealership employees.
